Top of Google with a Content Strategy
When people are looking for products and services just like yours, their first port of call is Google. So it goes without saying that we need to get your website on page 1 of Google or your site will be invisible.
One of the key strategies for getting to the top of Google is to add regular fresh content to your website. So you need a content strategy.

What is Web Content?
Information, articles, reviews, tips, blog posts, newsletters, comparisons, white papers, interviews, webinars, podcasts, images, animations, videos, live events and so on. Be generous with what you share. Quality content positions you as an expert and a leader. It develops a trust between you and your readers or prospects.
Google Loves Content
If you only have a few web pages that are never updated, Google will ignore you. The more quality content you have the more it helps build your websites popularity.
If you put quality content out on the Internet other websites will start linking to you. They will also LIKE, SHARE, re-TWEAT and COMMENT on it. This also builds your Google ranking and helps to get you listed at the top of the search engines.
When potential customers are searching online for information, make sure it is your website they find. Get to the top of Google. Regular quality content is a key ingredient.

I’ve been asked the BLOG writing question a few zillion times. So here are my best tips.
1. BLOG short - I want a quick fix
We are writing BLOG posts not articles. So keep it short and punchy so readers can get the mssage and then get on with their crazy-busy lives.
This BLOG post that you are currently reading is 312 words. This is a long BLOG post. Avoid exceeding 300 words.
2. BLOG regular - We could have an ongoing relationship
Keep your BLOG posts short and frequent. This way your target audience has a good reasons to return to your website regularly. They may even subscribe to your BLOG.
3. BLOG quality - If It’s Great I’ll Be Back
Yes I’m crazy-busy, so don’t waste my time. Make your BLOG incredibly interesting and ridiculously useful. Also I get bored easily, so it better be entertaining.
4. BLOG voice - You Have A Voice And A Personality
I want to hear your personality. So talk to me the way that you normally speak. If you remove your personality then your writing will be BORING. If you normally speak with a little slang, then that’s how you should write your BLOG posts.
Remember you're not writing an academic thesis... Here are three important rules:
1) Just speak to the reader.
2) Just speak to the reader.
3) Just speak to the reader.
5. BLOG format - Easy On The Eye
- Short sentences are always easier to read than long ones.
- Short paragraphs are always easier to read than long ones.
- Bullet points and numbers are a nice way to structure content.
6. BLOG conversation - The Audience Has A Voice
Remember your audience can instantly comment on your BLOG post. They can and will compliment, analyse, argue with and criticise you. They will even have mini online discussions about you and what you have written.

10 Ideas For Fresh Blog Content
Blog’s are brilliant because you can quickly and easily add quality content to your site. The trouble for most people is to continuously come up with nuggets of gold (great content) to add to their blog.
I often get asked: “How do I keep coming up with good quality ideas for blog topics?” So here are 10 simple tips for generating BLOG post ideas.
1. Write a list of your products or services that you offer, then next to each one, write an idea for a tip that you could provide.
2. Do you have a new product or service? If yes, then why is the beneficial to your customers?
3. If you have recently won an award or had a great success, let your web visitors know. If you don’t brag, your customers will never know.
4. Your opinion on breaking news or controversial topics that affects your customers. Keep the points you make relevant to your business or industry.
5. Write a list of areas where you have expertise. Your commentary or free advice and tips become perfect blog posts.
6. Have a look at your competitors BLOGs. If they have posted about a great topic, you can too.
7. If you read an interesting point in the news or in a magazine, write your own short piece and post it to your blog.
8. If you are struggling with a problem, why not write about it and encourage readers to comment on your blog. The ideas and content that people provide could be “Gold”.
9. When your customers ask or email you questions, you provide quality answers. Use these answers to blog.
10. If you read an article online or a blog post by someone else, you can provide your opinion and link to the article.
Start blogging now. Keep it short and punchy and blog regularly.
