Video is cheap and easy to produce, keeps visitors on your website longer, increases brand building power and increases sales conversion results. Below you'll find the 6 essentials for producing professional web videos.

1. CAMERA
Get a video camera that has a USN cord that plugs straight into your computer.

2. TRIPOD
You need to keep the camera perfectly steady while shooting; otherwise your video will look unprofessional.

3. SOUND
Relying on the cameras microphone is rarely adequate. An external microphone will capture and produce quality sound.

4. GOOD LIGHTING
The subject must be well lit from all sides which removes the problem of shadows.

5. EDITING SOFTWARE
If you have a Mac then use iMovie, if you a PC then use Microsoft's Movie Maker.

6. YOU TUBE ACCOUNT
It's free to open a YouTube account. They will compress your video file and make it available on all devices (PC, Macs, iPhone, etc)

Internet Video – Fantastic Way To Communicate

Nothing communicates or sells as well as video does on a website.  Pictures and text just can’t compete…

Video totally captivates your senses and has the ability to emotionally connect with your audience and get people interested and excited.

Keep it simple!

I had the welcome video message on the Home Page of my website professionally produced.  But it doesn’t have to be.  You’re not trying to win awards, you’re trying to build a business and profit.

Keep the production costs low but the quality of your message high. 

Online viewers are interested in what benefits them.  They are happy with a low quality recording that downloads from YouTube.com , so they’ll watch it as long as it interests and benefits them.

Editing your video is easy!

You can edit your videos using free software that is provided with your computer (Windows Movie Maker for PCs or iMovie for Macs).  You don’t have to be a technical wiz, this software is easy to use and easy to learn.  I was amazed how you can just drag and drop files and delete sections of a video.

Once you have created your video:

Go to YouTube.com and click on the button that says “UPLOAD”.  This is totally free.

Once you upload your video YouTube provides you with some HTML (text) that you or your webs designer copies and pastes into the spot on your website where you want the video to appear.

There are other free video hosting websites.  If you upload your video to TubeMogul.com they will automatically distribute your video to all of the video sharing sites.

What do you want your web users to do next?

Make sure that you include a call to action at the end of your video.  Straight out, let viewers know exactly what action they should take.
