In this article I’ll explore some of the biggest changes going on now, in the year ahead and what I expect will continue over the next five years.

At the start of 2023, it’s natural to wonder what the future holds for your business and the opportunities in Internet Marketing. While it’s impossible to predict the exact shape of the Australian business economy I the year ahead, there are a few trends and developments that are worth keeping an eye on.

INFLATION & RECESSION

Let’s start with the negative economic outlook.  Inflation and recession are two words that no business owner wants to hear at the start of a new year. Between budget constraints and reduced spending power, an economic downturn places significant limitations on a small business.  In 2023 most Australian businesses will scale back their plans and marketing efforts.  Fortunately, negative periods always present remarkable opportunities for small businesses to implement effective marketing while the competition pulls back.  Take advantage of the low costs of Internet Marketing and you’ll see excellent results.  Now more than ever, online business solutions are available to super-charge all areas of your digital marketing efforts.

Now we see them being used for everything from customer support to soliciting feedback about products and services.  We expect this trend will continue with more platforms adopting the feature over the next few years—and maybe even before then!

MOBILE PHONES:

Another trend that is likely to continue is the rise of mobile marketing. As more and more people access the internet through their smartphones, it’s becoming increasingly important for businesses to optimize their websites and marketing campaigns for mobile devices. This means that businesses will need to be mindful of the user experience on mobile devices and ensure that their websites and marketing materials are easy to read and navigate on small screens.

VIDEO CONTENT:

Another area that is growing fast and will continue to see significant growth in the coming years is video marketing. Video marketing is a great way to reach customers, and it can be used to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and even boost sales. Video marketing is more effective than text-based content because it’s more engaging.  As Internet speeds continue to improve and video becomes increasingly accessible, it’s likely that businesses will start to use video more and more in their marketing efforts. AI:

This could include the use of AI to write content, optimize ad targeting, to personalize marketing messages, and to analyse customer data in order to improve the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.

With the rise in AI capabilities, Chatbots are another trend that will continue to grow in 2023. Chatbots are a way of communicating with customers, and they can be used for anything from answering questions to providing information to even selling products. Chatbots have the potential to improve customer service through automation and lower costs for businesses by allowing them to use fewer human resources.

In conclusion, while it’s difficult to predict exactly what the future of Internet Marketing  will look like, it’s clear that social media, mobile marketing, video marketing, and AI are all likely to play a significant role.
