Top of Google with a Content Strategy

When people are looking for products and services just like yours, their first port of call is Google. So it goes without saying that we need to get your website on page 1 of Google or your site will be invisible.

One of the key strategies for getting to the top of Google is to add regular fresh content to your website.  So you need a content strategy.

What is Web Content?
Information, articles, reviews, tips, blog posts, newsletters, comparisons, white papers, interviews, webinars, podcasts, images, animations, videos, live events and so on.  Be generous with what you share. Quality content positions you as an expert and a leader.  It develops a trust between you and your readers or prospects.

Google Loves Content
If you only have a few web pages that are never updated, Google will ignore you.  The more quality content you have the more it helps build your websites popularity.

If you put quality content out on the Internet other websites will start linking to you.  They will also LIKE, SHARE, re-TWEAT and COMMENT on it.  This also builds your Google ranking and helps to get you listed at the top of the search engines.

When potential customers are searching online for information, make sure it is your website they find.  Get to the top of Google.  Regular quality content is a key ingredient.

For help getting your website to the top of Google give me a call or email.  I'll get your website on page 1 of Google guaranteed, then you get more visitors, more sales, more profit.

Cut Through Complexity By Planning for Success

Back in the good old days, business was simple.

When you consider the economy of an ancient Hunter gather societies, they only had about 100 products to trade.

Today’s modern societies have over a 100 million products and services.  That’s a lot of choice and complexity.

This complexity simply means that you need to plan your business and website strategy.  The planning ensures you are heading down the right road with a clear vision and that you have the resources to do what it takes.  Planning ahead also gives you focus and a tremendous feeling of self confidence and personal power.

Top 7 Google Algorithms That Never Change

Google Algorithms
A mathematical formula Google has created for judging and calculating which web pages are the best, and should be at the top of a Google page.Google makes roughly 500 small improvements to their algorithms in a given year.  The basic SEO strategies never change and I have listed 7 of them below.

7 Critical SEO Strategies to get your website ranked at the top of Google:

  1. Regularly create new, high quality content for your website.
  2. Spend time researching and choose the right keywords to target.
  3. Add images and make sure the image name includes the keyword phrase.
  4. Get as many quality backlinks to your website as possible from high ranking websites.
  5. Make sure your keyword phrase is in the Title Tag of your web page.
  6. Make sure your keyword phrase is in the heading at the top of your web page.
  7. Where possible use keywords in your web page URL’s.

Researching Keywords
A good tool to use to research keywords is Google Keyword Tool. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal.

If you need assistance with SEO, it would be a pleasure to help you get to the top.

Anonymous Facebook Comments - Should I Delete?

YES DELETE
You don’t want to provide your competitors with an easy way to insult your business and run you down… so feel free to delete this type of malicious comment as soon as possible.

If a Fan uses rude/profanity, racial and ethnic slurs, if they post hateful, threatening, or pornographic content, if they bully and intimidate other FANs for their comments or make disparaging personal remarks… feel free to delete their comment.

If you are questioned by a FAN for deleting their abusive comment and it clearly falls into the above category, you can feel comfortable explaining your acceptable policy.

DO NOT DELETE
Firstly it’s important to know that if you have a bad product or service, people are going to post negative comments on the Internet… and you have a much bigger problem than just negative comments.

When you receive criticism on your Facebook page it feels like a dagger in the chest.  Stay calm.  Think before you react.Yes I know your first instinct is to defend yourself and go on the offensive.  Is typing an angry rebuttal with equally abusive comments going to be smart considering everyone on the web can read it?

A Facebook manager has to be able to accept the good and the bad.  You don’t want to insult clients and FANs by dismissing their criticism… don’t delete these negative comments; instead work to resolve the problem.

If you receive constructive criticism, thank the person for their suggestion at the start of your response.  You can go on to explain what you did or will do to sort this out, or simple let them know you will consider their advice. The key is toshow your FANs and the online community you are engaged and care.  If you do you’ll find that people will be forgiving and supportive.

There will always be the potential for positive and negative feedback.  It’s the way you react to it that shines either a positive or negative light on your business.

Google Advertising Is Getting More Expensive

The main reason is because Google is forcing the bid price up.  They have been doing this for the past few years.  This is the problem that occurs when a company like Google has no competition.

You’ll notice in your AdWords account that Google turns some of your keyword phrases off .  This keyword phrase will then be highlighted and a message next to it saying “BELOW FIRST PAGE BID AMOUNT”.  Google will also provide a figure that they expect you to increase your bid amount to if you want to continue advertising.

Here are 5 ideas for improving your Google AdWords effectiveness:
#1  Test different Google ads, you may get an improved conversion rate.
#2  Stop advertising for keyword phrases that are not attracting buyers.
#3  Make sure your website landing page is relevant and persuasive.
#4  Consider only advertising on Google not on their broader content sites.
#5  Don’t bid higher to be in #1 position. Any position from #1 to 5 works.

Make sure you analyse how many new clients you are getting directly from your Google Advertising.  THIS IS CRITICAL.  Does your ad spend provide a return on investment or not?  If it does, then keep advertising.
